“I chose to accept this baby for EVERYTHING he was and NOT for what he wasn’t.” Stand for life
We choose from the day we heard about Joseph to accept him as a part of our family, no matter what his situation, because he was a baby in need of a home. Little did we know the blessing that we would receive because of his little life. The support and love has been tremendous. We have loved hearing from each of you that read our blog and follow Josephs story. What a testament to his life, a life that is of importance, that can never be argued. His birth mother may have not wanted his precious life and even though she thought he was best to even abort at an early age God had a different story for him. We are thankful for Gods provision and for a birth mother who recognized that she could not care for him and was able to sign over this little life. We will be forever grateful to her for allowing us Joseph. Our hearts are forever connected to his as if I gave birth on December 31st myself. The number of people praying for this sweet boy to grow and thrive is unbelievable and blows my mind each day. One day he will see how his life is perfectly made to fit just where he is.
We have had a very steady week, Joseph has just been moving right along and remaining stable in all areas. He did receive a little blood to replenish his system, very normal for a baby his size. The previous times he received more blood it really improved his oxygen levels and helped him to continue in gaining weight. He has also had a few extra doses of potassium this week, it has kept him nice and perky. We have done kangaroo care everyday this week, I think we are both getting more comfortable each day. It is a learning process for us both, but each day I get a little better at keeping him positioned for ultimate oxygen saturation and he is settling in much quicker every time. The girls got to visit for a second time this evening. It is so sweet to see them interact with him and he always opens his eyes and starts at them when they come to be with him, he even smiled at them tonight (the picture above). They love him so much already and have been decorating his room with drawings. Our family can not wait to add him into the mix of everyday life. We are continuing to pray for him to grow strong enough to wean off that oxygen and that he will gain weight.
